Economics Research Group
It is the latest initiative of the Marshall Society to cater the academic interests of its members. CUMSERG is a platform to nurture the researching skills of budding Economists. We envisage conducting research projects during term time and summer breaks in topics related to Economics. The scope of research is broad depending on specific projects. It may involve conducting sample surveys, creating economic models, testing economic theory using econometric applications or even a literature review aimed at answering specific queries. CUMSERG will be organizing introductory lectures on research methodology. The four categories of our work are:
1. Term time Projects: We are aiming to start with 3-5 term time projects during the Michaelmas term, 2009 .Each sub-group conducting a specific project will be allocated a supervisor from the Faculty. 2. Research Assistantship opportunities: We will inform members of any research assistantship opportunities within faculty or outside Cambridge. We will also help to match you with an area of interest 3. Summer Projects: We intend to run projects during summer break. Members are advised to send any research topics. Since we have members across the globe, we can easily access cross-country data whenever required. 4. Work with External Agencies: There are lot of NGO’S and other research bodies in Cambridge and surrounding areas. Group will try for possible collaborations in research projects with these organizations.
